Getting Around Manchester
The city centre is easily accessible by foot, but if  your shoes just aren't practical enough, hop on board one of the many free city shuttle buses than run every 5 minutes and transport you all across the city. This is really a great and inexpensive way to explore the city and see what's on offer to you and the girls! Trams are also a popular mode of transport in Manchester, with day saver passes offering a cheap way to see the city... Tickets cost around £4 and are valid all day. Taxis are much cheaper in the north and Manchester is no exception, with a city centre trip costing around £3 they are a great way to get back to your accommodation after a late night of enjoying the Mancunian nightlife. As usual of a big city, buses run regularly and efficiently throughout the day and night! Manchester Nightlife
Manchester is home to one of the strongest clubbing scenes in the country and with a massive number of students it's home to a young, vibrant population all out to have a great time in the city! Due to the vast student population there is always a cheap night to be had from free entry to cut price drinks! The main student area in Manchester is Fallowfield, this is where you will find all the best deals in the bars, pubs and clubs that litter the streets in this area.  The Northern Quarter offers a more bohemian feel with loads of laid backed independently run establishments. Oxford Road is awash with various watering holes - You're bound to find something you like amongst the vast array of bars, pubs and clubs that are situated here! Deansgate is popular with WAGS and footballers... and the prices reflect this, but if you want an upmarket place to drink on your hen weekend, this is the place to go! Deansgate Locks are swanky bars housed in converted railway arches, again drinks are more expensive here than they are in the city centre but the location is a strong selling point and are extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. Getting To Manchester
By Air - Manchester is home to the busiest international airport outside of London, Meaning that travelling to your hen do from England or abroad is an absolute doddle! Low cost and Premium airlines use this airport so you're sure to find a great deal on tickets! There is a train station situated just outside the airport and taxis are a regular sight at the airport so you won't find any problems getting to your city centre accommodation! Taxis from the airport to the city centre cost around £20 per car.
By Train - Piccadilly Station is situated on London Roads in the heart of Manchester city centre and accommodates over 83,000 passengers and 1000 train movements every single day. There are regular trains coming in to Piccadilly Station from London and with an average travel time of just 2 hours, it's a great alternative to driving!
By Road - Travelling to Manchester by road is a great way to keep costs down and it's always a giggle having a road trip! Having a car on your hen weekend in Manchester also means that you have more independence and can explore a bit further out of the city centre than you would be able to without a vehicle! Unfortunately it does mean one of you will be lumbered with being the designated driver though! The average travel time from London to Manchester is around 3.5 hours depending on road conditions and how many toilet beaks you stop for! The major motorways from London to Manchester are the M1, M6 and then on to the M42. On the trip you will pass some other major UK cities including Birmingham and Sheffield! If however you are coming from the north the M62 is the major route to Manchester and will pass Leeds!

Shopping In Manchester
The Arndale in Manchester is the largest inner city shopping centre in the Uk, it's situated in the heart of the city and has regular public transport running to and from it to make your shopping experience in Manchester that little bit easier! There are over 240 shops and major department stores to tempt you and the girls... After a hard morning of shopping regain some of your energy with a stop at one of the numerous restaurants or cafes for a bite to eat! The designer outlets such as Armani, Vidal Sassoon, Westwood and DKNY are situated around St Ann's Square, Deansgate, and the Victorian Barton Arcade! Maximise can't talk about shopping in Manchester without mentioning the Trafford centre AKA the "temple of consumerism"! It's located approximately 15 minutes outside the city centre with over 280 shops, 35 restaurants, leisure facilities and a huge multi screened cinema -  It's shopping heaven! Buses run regularly to the Trafford Centre including; the X50, which runs every 15 minutes from the city centre of Manchester, the 100, which runs every 10-12 minutes, and the 250, which runs every 10-15 minutes. Capital Wheel Of Manchester - Take in the views of Manchester on your hen weekend, day or night on this 60 metre tall Ferris wheel, situated in the heart of the city. It boasts 42 passenger cars so it can accommodate even the largest of hen groups! - Just think of it as the Northern version of the London Eye...
Christmas Markets - If you are fortunate to be on your hen weekend in Manchester in November or December then the Christmas markets situated in Albert Square, St Ann’s Square and Exchange Square are a must see! With stalls from various European countries selling their wares, from little trinkets and charming accessories to traditional food and drink!
