HEN IDEAS

When it comes to thinking up ideas for a hen weekend, you can start with the idea and then find a location that serves it up, or you can start with the location and see what ideas are on offer.
When choosing a location, lots of considerations come into play. Your first thought may turn to your hometown - you know all the good places and there is no requirement to pay for accommodation, but there's no getting away from it, the hen weekend will likely not be remembered for its originality.
Going somewhere new will ensure you don't bump into anyone you don't want to, and safe in this knowledge, being in somewhere different your inhibitions will just fade away.
If you do pick an alternative location to your hometown, then you will need lodging for the night. Hotels are great because they are usually conveniently located, and everything is on a plate for you. Maximise will ensure you get rooms, and will book well in advance so your rooms are next to one another. Renting out a city apartment is also a fun way to do it, and because quite a few of you will be sharing the same place, this brings out a sense of camaraderie, especially when it comes to getting ready - a crucial part of any fun hen weekend!
If you choose to head to the country then a cottage is a novel idea. It's fun, gives a sense of togetherness, and it can often be a good money saver, especially if you plan on cooking dinner in the cottage. Maximise have a long list of cottages available, but they are not as yet listed on our website excepting this rather wonderful hen cottage package in Bristol, with activities on site. If you would like to enquire just give us a call on 0208 236 0111.

Cottages usually mean country breaks, and this is one sort of holiday that can be a novel alternative to city breaks. They tend to prioritise activities instead of nightlife, and if its a particularly tight group then the vibrancy of a city centre won't be needed to get the laughs going. Discuss with our Hen team what activities will be available to you in your countryside location.
As another alternative to a UK city break, a trip abroad is always on the cards. Spain is our favourite location for hens, especially Ibiza, Barcelona and Madrid. With cheap airlines (albeit not as cheap as they used to be) a hen weekend abroad is now a very feasible option. You may end up with a smaller group size as an abroad weekend is usually more of a commitment, while those that do come will be committed to the cause!
Finally the safest of safe bets is a weekend trip to a great city destination in the UK. We can organise packages at amazing prices and everything else besides.
For the hen do itself don't forget to accessorise! Forfeit cards, place mats, hen accessories (think all things willy-), hen costumes and t-shirts - all available at our hen store - props, games, speeches, forfeits, themes and keepsakes. And photos of course, but be mindful of tagging the hens in compromising situations!
