BIRMINGHAM STAG WEEKEND INFORMATION
One of two major cities in the Midlands, the other being Nottingham, Birmingham is home to 3 Universities which makes it a very young population and unquestionably one of the liveliest stag weekend destinations in the UK. Birmingham has a host of daytime activities and some really great nightlife so even the pickiest of stag groups will be impressed by what's on offer to them...

Getting around Birmingham
Birmingham has an abundance of convenient and fast transport options to suit every taste. As a compact city centre, the best way to get around is by foot. Taxi’s (both road and water) are very easy to locate and are regulated. Driving around Birmingham is pretty straightforward (from Maximise's experience a Sat Nav is advised!) but parking can be expensive and is limited in the city centre. The bus service runs regularly throughout the day and night and offers a cheaper alternative to taxis. Routes include both inner and outer city locations which means you can get round Birmingham with ease

Birmingham Nightlife
It’s party-time in Birmingham... Everyone can start their stag weekend in style to the latest anthems. Go dance crazy whatever your chosen genre - Birmingham has it all! Hit the bustle of Broad Street’s clubs and bars, It's the mecca in Birmingham for nighlife and has loads of choice with big name DJs playing there almost on a weekly basis! - The only problem you'll have is deciding which bar to go to first! Take a wander up to Hurst Street and you'll find a £5.5 million popular club that boast 7 different rooms! If you are looking for a more up market scene, head for The Mailbox nightspots. Or take on the clubland scene at the Arcadian. The Jewelery Quarter, situated in St Pauls Square, hosts live music events, showcasing the musical talents of Birmingham, regularly! In Birmingham, you are seriously spoilt for choice and with Europe’s youngest population you'll be in good company!

Getting to Birmingham
By Air - Birmingham Airport welcomes more than 50 airlines from over 100 destinations. It’s home to plenty of low cost carriers so there are great money-saving deals to nab. Or for business users looking for more comfort - long or short haul - you’ll also find lots of choice to suit your schedule. With road and rail right alongside, it couldn’t be better connected. Plus, with Coventry airport just a few minutes down the road, you’ve even more flexibility.
By Train- Three city centre stations provide great connections to destinations near or far. The soon-to-be-refurbished New Street is at the hub of the National Rail network. Services to and from London Marylebone serve Moor Street (right by the Bull Ring) and Snow Hill (in the business district). All 3 stations are well served by bus or parking facilities. Birmingham International station sits right alongside the airport; providing a link direct to the city centre for air passengers. The average train journey time from London to Birmingham is 2 hours!
By road- All roads lead to Birmingham - well almost. It’s certainly an easy place for everyone to drive to. Set at the heart of the UK motorway network, it’s linked by the M5, M6, M40 and M42 while the A34 and A38 further add to your options. The recent addition of the M6 Toll Road adds another choice (while also helping to keep through traffic away from the area to free up roads). Once here, we’ve 25,000 city centre parking spaces within easy reach. The average drive time from central London to Birmingham is 2.5 hours
Things to do or see in Birmingham
Star City- Star City is a complex that was opened in summer 2000. It has a 47 screen Cinema which at the time of being built, was the largest cinema in Europe. There is also a bowling alley and arcade, which around Summer time
and especially weekends can be very busy, so you may have to wait to get your alley. Star City is also packed with mixed-theme restaurants which include as well as others; Mexican, Spanish, Chinese and traditional English food. Ma Potters is the best restaurant for steaks, 20oz challenge (which consists of 20oz steak and a double serving of chips, to win a free pudding) EASY! Star City also has a handful of bars and boasting around 3,000 parking spaces, this complex is the largest of its kind in the UK - A definite must see on your stag weekend in Birmingham. Star City Casino opened in November 2003 and as the UK's largest casino has enhanced Star City's growing reputation further
