Getting Around Cardiff
Cardiff as a city is relatively compact, with the majority of the attractions, shops, restaurants and bars all within a few minutes of each other. Making it easy to get around by foot! In fact you could go the whole weekend with using any public transport – but here at Maximise we think this is pretty unlikely, especially after a heavy night on the town!  So here’s the low down on all the best ways to travel around Cardiff on your stag weekend… Okay so it’s not a limo, but you do have your own personal driver… Cardiff’s bus service, is quick, reliable and cheap, the routes in Cardiff are extensive and run every few minutes. You’ll never be too far from a taxi rank on your stag do… The taxis are all on a meter, and because Cardiff is a small city, taxi fares are very reasonably priced. If you looking for a different way to travel on your stag weekend then hop on board one of the pedal taxis and be transported around the city by some poor bloke on a push bike! Travelling around Cardiff by car is pretty straightforward, bus as with any city congestion can occur at peak times. Parking although plentiful can be expensive…

Cardiff Nightlife
The capital of Wales’, nightlife has expanded in recent years to accommodate the growing influx of party goers arriving daily to have a good time in this vibrant Welsh city. It is regularly voted one of the best drinking destinations in the UK. St Mary Street alone has over 40 pubs and bars in and around it! St Mary Street is situated on the Westside of the city where you will find every type of bar imaginable with some great deals to be had. Another area in the west end that has some cracking nightlife is Mill Lane, which has a cosmopolitan feel to it. The newest addition is the Brewery quarter development, which practically does what it says on the tin! The east end is the second most popular nightlife area in Cardiff and has seen lots of new bars pop up in recent years. The best areas in the east end include Greyfriars Road and The Friary. The Millennium Stadium is at its busiest when the rugby or football is on… with people flocking to the area to bag the best drinking and viewing spots. Getting To Cardiff
By Air – Cardiff international airport serves Cardiff and the rest of south, mid and west Wales. It is situated approximately 19km outside the city centre. A taxi from the airport to your centrally located accommodation will cost around £25 per car, alternatively both trains and buses run from the airport into the heart of the city.
By Train – From Paddington Station in London to Cardiff takes just 2 hours by train making it a great alternative to driving… plus it means no one will draw the short straw when deciding who the designated driver is – Happy days! Train prices can be a bargain, especially if you’re travelling at off peak times! Other destinations, in easy reach of Cardiff by train are Bristol (50mins), Birmingham (2 hours), Liverpool (3.5 hours), Manchester (3 hours) and Southampton (2.5 hours).
By Car – The major motorway route into Cardiff is the M4, passing across the Severn Bridge. The toll on this bridge is around £5.40 and only cash is accepted so raid those piggy banks boys! If coming from the south west of England head north on the M5 before joining the M4 and continuing on to Cardiff. If you are coming from the North or the Midlands head for the M50 at junction 8 take the exit on to the M5 then on to the A40 until Monmouth, Take the exit, on to the A449 until Coldra where you will join the M4 to continue onto Cardiff! Travel time from London to Cardiff takes approximately 3 hours…
