From Benidorm to Ibiza, there’s a Spanish hen do destination for everyone on every budget – and whether you’re after luxury beds in an exclusive beach club, the biggest parties in the world or a good old fashioned knees up in a bar, you’ll find it at one of our hen party destinations in Spain.
Why Spain for Your Hen Do?
We’re not sure we need to convince anyone that laying around in the sun with a cocktail on your hen party is a good idea… but in case that doesn’t have you sold:
The weather, obviously: Spain is blessed with warm Mediterranean summers, springs, autumns and even mild winters – or no winters at all if you head to Tenerife - and we all know a tan is as good a reason as any in picking where to head on your hen do.
Beaches, also obviously: Out of all 13 of our Spain hen party locations, only two of them don’t have their own beaches – Madrid & Seville – and believe us, you’ll be spoilt for choice on which beach you want to spend your days laying around on with some of Europe’s best beaches on offer.
Delicious Spanish Food: It’s not all about drinking on your hen do – you’ll need something to fuel the drinking too. Spanish cuisine is some of the best around, with tapas, paella, tortilla and jamon just to name a few and if you’re heading to a seaside resort, you’ll also be able to enjoy incredibly fresh fish and seafood caught that day.
Hen Night Partying: Spain has a national cultural rule that dinner isn’t served until around 8pm at the earliest, which means generally people aren’t heading out until 9pm for their after dinner entertainment. What we’re saying is your hen night won’t get started until the late hours of the evening, or finish until the early hours of the following morning.
Fiesta, Siesta: We don’t know who in Spain is coming up with ideas for festivals, but they must be off their rocker. If you’re idea of a perfect hen do is blending in with the locals in whatever madness they’re getting up to, we’ve got hen party packages to get you along to La Tomatina – the tomato throwing festival and La Batalla de Vino – the wine throwing festival… though we shan’t be sending you to the one where they jump over babies.
Hen Do Activities in Spain: That’s not to say that the only fun can be had during some of the weird and wonderful festivals of Spain – there’s hen do activities that’ll show you a good time year round, like the Spanish sangria bike, chilled out boat cruises or the always popular cocktail making.
Choices, Choices: Which Spanish Hen Party to Pick
Much like a kid in a sweet shop, the hardest part of your hen do will be choosing which destination in Spain to go to. We’ve got 13 incredible destinations on offer, catering to every bride-to-be and all wanting to welcome you with open arms and a jug of sangria. While we could rave on about our hen party destinations for hours – we’ll keep it short and sweet…
Barcelona: Our most popular hen party destination during 2017, the unofficial capital of Spain – unlike London that can’t even get the night tube running, Barcelona never sleeps. Vibe: cosmopolitan chic meets beach break.
Benalmadena: Benalmadena is a hen party gem in the Costa Del Sol. More chilled out than its clubbing neighbours, Marbella & Puerto Banus, Benalmadena is a resort lover’s heaven. Vibe: Sun worshipper’s paradise.
Benidorm: The original Brits behaving badly destination – we LOVE Benidorm hen dos. Unashamedly what it is, we actually think it’s impossible to have a bad night out here, and it’s easy on the purse strings to boot. Vibe: cheap and cheerful.
Costa Brava: Famed for its natural beauty, Costa Brava might not compete with Ibiza for nightlife, but fortunately it’s not trying to, it’s all about unspoilt coastlines, chilling on the beach and getting away from the real world. Vibe: natural beauty.
Ibiza: We’re not even sure if we need to introduce Ibiza. Party capital of Spain, Europe and probably the world – we think the reason we rate it for hen dos is self-explanatory. Vibe: eat, sleep, rave, repeat.
Madrid: The actual capital of Spain, Madrid is a thriving city where your hen night won’t start until extremely late and ends when the commuters are all going to work the following morning. Vibe: city break meets clubbing heaven.
Magaluf: Infamous among sweaty teenagers who look like they belong in The InBetweeners, if you want obnoxiously wild partying your entire hen weekend, without a hefty price tag, Magaluf’s ya girl. Vibe: fishbowl cocktails, noz balloons and a lot of fancy dress.
Marbella & Puerto Banus: Exclusivity is the name of the game for a Marbella hen do. Beach clubs, nightclubs, restaurants… head somewhere you want to be seen, in your fanciest glad rags. Vibe: no carbs before marbs.
Salou: A bustling resort with more to do than you could hope to get done. Salou is a shining example of why hen parties starting flocking to Spain in the first place. Theme parks, water parks, beaches and great food. Vibe: solid all-rounder.
Seville: Seville is like stepping back to another world on your hen do. Traditional Spain awaits you with flamenco dancers, sangria, paella and gondola cruises await. Vibe: traditional and triumphant.
Tenerife: Not actually in mainland Spain, but owned by them none the less. Tenerife was hand built to cater to the hordes of tourists who turn up every year for the year round sun, so you know it knows how to show you a good time. Vibe: sunny whatever the season.
Valencia: Surrounded by the warm Balearic Sea, Valencia offers a chic seaside hen party destination with great city nightlife and lazy beach bum days to match. Vibe: chic seaside pick.
