Getting around Brighton

Brighton is a compact little city so you can get around on foot with ease on your stag weekend. Everything is within close proximity, which makes walking a great way to explore this thriving city! The railway station is just a 10 minute walk from the centre and the beach is the hub of the city’s main attractions! The buses in Brighton run frequently and efficiently, with both day and night buses available. The prices are very reasonable and it costs just £2 for a standard single across the city, making it one of the cheapest ways to travel on your stag. There are hundreds of taxis operating in Brighton, both day and night! There are two types of taxi in Brighton, pre-booked minicabs or hackney carriages that you can hail on the street! The main taxi ranks in the city are situated on East Street, Queen’s Square and the Hove town hall. Driving in Brighton can be confusing, with one way systems and restricted access in some areas, so Maximise recommend taking a sat nav at the very least. Parking in the city centre can be very pricey and there is limited space, however you can park just outside the city centre and hop on board the park and ride bus service that will transport you back and forth from your car to the city centre!

Brighton’s city centre is home to some buzzing nightlife, and has the liveliest music and club scene on the South coast. Brighton’s nightlife can be divided into a few different areas: the seafront, or the King’s Road arches are home to a variety of bars and clubs that range from the traditional to the down right quirky. These great bars are housed in Victorian beach front arches and make a great location to party the night away! West Street is Brighton’s nightlife hub, with the whole road awash with pubs, bars and clubs! The area is a vibrant blur or fun, laughter and letting off a bit of steam! The intimate layout of all the bars makes it a perfect location to partake in a spot of pub golf! Madeira Drive features some buzzing bars, and is a great place to start the night, with only a short walk to either West Street or King’s Road Arches! Getting to Brighton

By Air: Brighton is located close to London Gatwick and roughly takes half an hour to travel to Brighton. Gatwick is the second largest airport in England, so Brighton so can accommodate thousands of passengers, airlines and locations every year! Whether you are travelling from the UK or abroad it couldn’t be easier to get to Brighton by air. A taxi from Gatwick to your centrally located accommodation will cost around £30 per car, alternatively, there are great train, bus and coach connections for you onward journey.
By Train: It takes just under an hour to reach Brighton from London by train making it a really convenient way to travel to your stag destination. There are also direct train links from most other UK locations including Scotland, The North West, the Midlands, the West Country and South Wales, so it couldn’t be simpler! A train ticket from London Victoria to Brighton will cost around £5.00 making it a cost effective way to get to your weekend of fun and festivities! Once in Brighton, it is only a short 10-minute walk into the heart of the city!
By Road: Brighton is just over an hour from London and is easily accessible to all other areas in the UK. Brighton has great links to some Major motorways, meaning your journey will be straightforward! The M23, A23, M25 and the A27 all service Brighton and offer relatively quick access to the city. Portsmouth and Southampton are approximately 2 hours away by car and if coming from the North of England you’re looking at around 4 hours to get to this fantastic city, but it’s definitely worth it!

Things to see in Brighton

Brighton Beach: You can’t visit Brighton without visiting the beach! Sit back and relax on your stag weekend with a trip to the award-winning beach. Take a dip or just chill out with your mates, but don’t forget the knotted hanky!
Brighton Pier: Another attraction that Brighton is renowned for! Take a wander up the pier and experience all that is on offer, from the large arcade that will keep you amused for hours or the quirky shops that run along the pier to the thrilling rides or to just grab a drink and a bite to eat! Whatever you do, the pier is well worth a visit!
Ghost Walk: Take a tour of the lanes, Brighton’s most haunted area! The guided tour lasts around 70 minutes, in which time you will visit 7 of the most haunted venues and hear the spine tingling stories that go along with them! After the tour you will visit a pub where you can grab a pint to calm your nerves and try to convince yourself that it wasn’t real. Are you man enough?
Hove Lagoon: Try some water sports on your stag weekend. This venue offers windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, wakeboarding, SUP, power boating and yacht sailing. All great activities for any group!
Brighton Wheel: Enjoy panoramic views of this vibrant city on the 45m wide observation wheel, situated on the seafront. Just don’t look down!

I live here already so not sure if its fair I comment! Conveniently close to London, great nightlife, great looking place, but full of weirdos and druggies sometimes. And hen weekends..

Never been to Brighton before, had no idea it was as lively as it was. maybe because its near London. Anyway, highly recommended. nice looking town as well.

Just back from a mad weekend in Brighton. Loads of bars/pubs and clubs, we were spoilt for choice. Hotel was good and the breakfast was a great help for all our hangovers!
