Most of Reading is easily accessible by foot, the town centre is pretty compact and everything you'd need for a great stag do is within walking distance. The bus service is also an effective way to get around without spending a fortune and enables you to explore a little further afield. Day passes and group saver deals are also available making travelling by bus very cost effective. Taxis are available both day and night and can be hailed in the street. The metre should be on but for private hire companies you should always agree a price before the journey. Driving in reading is pretty simple and there is ample parking available in both public and private car parks.

Getting to Reading

By Air: Getting to Reading by air couldn’t be easier, you can fly into any London airport and from there you either get a direct train or a coach to Reading, or alternatively you can hire a car a drive to Reading via the M4 motorway.
By Train: Reading can be reached by train from many different areas in the UK. Services run from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Oxford, Plymouth, Cornwall, Portsmouth, Southampton, Swansea and York. From London Paddington, a train to Reading departs several times an hour and takes around 30 minutes. You will be able to find some great deals on return tickets throughout the year with fares as low as £15
By Car: Reading is served by the M4 motorway, with junction 11 the best junction to come off at to go to the city centre. Reading is approximately an hour away from London, making it easily accessible to most locations across the UK. But be careful if your stag do is on at the same time as the Reading Festival (usually the August bank holiday weekend). The roads in and out of the city become incredibly congested and it can take hours just to leave the city.

Reading Festival: This awesome festival is held every year towards the end of August. It attracts some of the biggest names in the music industry and thousands flock to the town every single year for the 3 day event.
Reading Abbey Ruins And Fornby Gardens: Scenic gardens and the remains of an abbey that was one of the most important political, historical and religious buildings in England.
Reading Beer And Cider Festival: This fantastic festival runs throughout the month of May, where you can try both locally and nationally brewed beer and cider, for educational purposes, of course.

we missed our activities on the Saturday because we went too heavy on the Friday. Don't make the same mistake as us
