While it isn't a capital, Wroclaw can definitely compete with the big stag do destinations in Eastern Europe! With a growing reputation as the Venice of the North as well as soon having the title of European Capital of Culture 2016, Wroclaw is a unique destination for your stag do abroad. During the day there's all the stag do staples like karting, paintball and brewery tours. Or take advantage of the many rivers in the city with a party boat tour, complete with a sexy shipmate, of course. In the evening, your only problem is going to be deciding which clubs and bars to go to because the city is packed full of them! The city looks spectacular in the winter and is packed full of beer gardens in the summer so whenever you're planning on having your stag do, Wroclaw won't let you down!

Getting around Wroclaw

You can easily get around Wroclaw on foot, but if you want to travel outisde the city or if you're just too hungover to face walking there's a great public transport system. You can buy tickets which will allow you to use both the buses and trams run by MPK Wroclaw. Tickets are sold in Ruch kiosks, post offices, most newspaper stores and there's plenty of self-service ticket machines dotted across the city. Remember to validate your ticket or face a fine. You can also hail down a cab pretty easily, and Wroclaw doesn't suffer from a reputation of having dodgy taxi drivers. Most people in Wroclaw will have a basic understanding of English - so if you're ever lost, the locals should be able to point you in the direction of a pub!

What you need to know about nightlife in Wroclaw

Nightlife in Wroclaw

Nightlife in Wroclaw

Most of Wroclaw's nightlife can be found in the heart of the city around the Old Town Market Square and unlike English bars and clubs, most of them will stay open until the last customers have stumbled out. If you're after some more obscure or alternative scenes head to the strip on ul. Boguslawskiego railway warf or ul. Ofiar Oswiecimskich street. As a student city, the clubs and bars are cheap and there are enough of them that you'll be spoilt for choice trying to choose which ones to squeeze in. If you're after a quick pint during the day, there are plenty of microbreweries scattered around the city, as well as beer gardens in the summer. You'll also be pleased to know there's not a shortage of strip clubs if you're after the more traditional stag night staples!
